One of the highlights of last year’s Leadership Symposium was an engaging and thought-provoking discussion panel featuring Dr. Kelvin McCree, Tracy McMillion, and FSCPM Professional Development Director Mark Campbell. Dr. McCree shared powerful insights on leadership, emphasizing that a true leader is more than a leader — he is a catalyst for change, a spark for inspiration, and a guide who helps others reimagine what is possible in both their personal and professional lives. Tracy McMillion, a consummate leader who has served as Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director for the City of Fort Myers since 2019, brought an unforgettable energy to the audience. Chief McMillion masterfully used musical pieces and R&B classics throughout the presentation to elevate the atmosphere, inspire reflection, and connect leadership principles to real-life experiences in a memorable and meaningful way.
We are pleased to continue that success with this year’s Leadership Symposium, which will take place October 1–2 at the John R. Trinkle Center in Plant City, Florida. Expanding to a two-day format once again provides even greater opportunities for professional development, collaboration, and connection with leaders from across the state.
I am honored to continue serving as President of the Florida Society of Certified Public Managers (FSCPM). My focus remains on strengthening relationships, fostering meaningful engagement, cultivating strategic partnerships, and expanding our membership across the state.
